The Bats took game one, 5-1, and an Adam Rosales walk-off sacrifice fly gave the Bats a 5-4 win in game two.
In Game 1, Matt Maloney (1-0, 1.29 ERA) tossed a complete game, giving up only one run. Maloney gave up six hits, walked none, and struck out two.
Bats outfielder Wes Bankston led the team in game one. He finished the game 2-3 with a home run and three RBI's.
Rosales went 1-2 with three RBI's in game two, making him three-for-five with four RBI's combined for the double header.
Bats' catcher Wilkin Castillo battled Clippers' reliever Rich Rundles and eventually led off the bottom of the seventh in a 4-4 game with a single. He then advanced to third, when Columbus third baseman, Andy Marte, threw the ball away attempting to force him at second. Rundles (0-1, 0-00) then walked Bats' second basemen Danny Richar to load the bases. Matt Herges entered the game, following the walk, and allowed Rosales' sacrifice fly, scoring Castillo easily, to win the game.
Ramon Ramirez started the game and received a no decision for the Bats. He went three-and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (three earned), four hits, four walks, and struck out two.

The Reds were lambasted this afternoon by the Pirates in Cincinnati 10-2. Mike Lincoln threw gasoline on the fire by giving up five runs in the top of the 9th. The Reds staged a mini-comeback in the bottom of the ninth but it was quickly snuffed out by yet another baserunning mistake for a game ending double play.

Friday's Reds and Louisville Bats games were rained out, the Reds game will be made up at a date to be determined later and the Bats will play a doubleheader tonight starting at 6:05.
Homer Bailey kicked off the Louisville Bats 2009 home opener with a stinker throwing 5.1 innings while allowing 9 hits and 9 runs, 8 of which were earned.
